Employer's Liability Insurance

Legally required under the Employers' Liability (Compulsory Insurance) Act 1969

Legal minimum: £5m. Harmony Fire requires £10m minimum. Required for all organisations employing staff. N/A only for sole director / sole trader companies with no employees. Failure to hold a valid policy is a criminal offence (fines up to £2,500/day).

Required for all partners undertaking site-based or client-facing activities

Harmony minimum: Contractors £5m | Consultants & Suppliers £2m. Covers injury to third parties or damage to third-party property.
Min: £5m (contractors)

Professional Indemnity Insurance

Required for consultants, designers and advisors

Harmony minimum: £1m per claim. Mandatory for consultants and CDM duty-holders (CDM Regulations 2015). Basis of cover: claims made.

For contractors operating plant, equipment or carrying out works

Covers damage to works, plant and equipment on site. Required under LOLER/PUWER for hired or owned plant.
